This year has been the year from Hell.... to put it nicely.  Not only has the Covid battle remained at the forefront of our operations, we have had to deal with ingredient and stock shortages from economic struggles from around the world.  And now, with the latest devastating landslides and flooding in the BC Lower Mainland, we find ourselves wondering how to keep moving forward.

First of all, we want to thank all of our customers from this past year.  Without your continued support, we couldn't of kept the doors open.  We are a small, local business, owned and operated by people who are born and raised in the North Peace area. By spending your dollars here, you are helping us to serve the community we love to call home!

Challenges we are facing:
  1. Out of stock items - since the slides and flooding in southern BC, we have not been able to place any orders with our 2 major suppliers.  So far we have no idea on when things will return to normal.
  2. Delayed completion times - we have run out of, or are close to running out of, key winemaking ingredients for in-shop produced batches of wine/beer/cider.
  3. Price increases - supply and demand control the wholesale costs.  As a small business, we cannot absorb the cost of inflation and supplier cost increases indefinitely.
What does that mean for you:
  1. We might not have the exact items you are looking for.
  2. Your in-shop wine/beer/cider could take longer to produce.
  3. Price increases will happen and without notice.
What's happening now:
  • We are out of a main ingredient to finish the Country Fruit Wines. We will not be booking any bottling appointments for any batches that are not ready, no matter what date we expected it to be completed. Some pre-booked appointments will be cancelled.  Do not worry, we will keep your wine stable and safe until bottling can happen.  We are already in talks with new suppliers and hope to have a solution soon.
  • New bottles are in short supply across the country. Our current prices may increase, without notice, due to shipping costs and individual wholesaler prices. Please reuse commercial bottles if possible.  The local bottle depot will sell you used bottles at a fraction of the cost of new bottles. Click HERE for their info.
  • We can only start wine kits that are in-stock.  No special orders will be taken at this time.
  • The December, and possibly January pre-orders, for the Passport/LE/RQ kits will be delayed.  We will contact you when they arrive.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the flooding in southern BC.  If these unsettled times have taught us anything, it's that we need to rise to the challenges and help those who need it more than we do. Love and compassion will make the world a better place.  Being able to flex, bend and grow with adversity will help us move forward.

Cheers,
All of us at Harvest Wine Outfitters

I try to buy local if possible. The good places are happy to help you. I do use Amazon for a lot of my weird hobby things because they are not available locally. Most local businesses are very happy to serve you. Everyone is effected by Covid and its just a way of life now.

Congratulations on stocking items from the Preservatory. Have to make a trip in soon. On another note I do appreciate your upfront and to the point news on telling everyone what the situation is with supplies - especially bottles. These are difficult times, unfortunately.
